Choosing Your Flowers for a winter wedding

After choosing a reception site, finalizing the guest list, and ordering invitations, you may be feeling overwhelmed by your wedding preparations. Though planning a wedding is certainly stressful, choosing your flowers will be less of a chore if you remember the following tips:

  • If you’re on a budget, you’ll want to stick with flowers that are easily available. Roses, lilies, orchids, daisies, and other traditional wedding flowers are available year round, but out-of-season choices will be significantly more expensive. If you have questions about what flowers are in season, just ask your florist.
  • While it’s perfectly fine to choose your flowers based on looks alone, many brides consider the symbolism of each flower when making their choices.
  • Red, burgundy, white, silver, or forest green are the traditional winter wedding colors, although blues and purples are becoming more popular among brides in search of a contemporary look.
